SwapLoader prides itself on the fact that we offer the benefits of low pressure hydraulics throughout our entire line of hoists. Low pressure hydraulics have been implemented for a number of reasons. These reasons range from reliable operation on a year-round basis to compatibility with other hydraulic attachments.
What are Low Pressure Hydraulics?
SwapLoader uses a hydraulic system that is low-pressure, high volume. We define low pressure hydraulics as operating under 3,600 PSI - with normal operating pressures between 1,800 and 2,800 PSI. High pressure hydraulic systems begin at 4,000 PSI - with typical operating pressure between 4,200 and 5,000 PSI or above. Depending upon the model of SwapLoader Hoist, maximum hydraulic operating pressure ranges from 2,800 PSI to 3,600 PSI.
Low Pressure Hydraulics offer your customer
lower maintenance on the hoist.
Low-pressure hydraulic systems typically utilize components (valves, cylinders, pumps, hoses, etc.) that are simpler in design and more tolerant of contaminates than high-pressure systems. This provides you with a system that is easy to troubleshoot and components that are less expensive to repair or replace. All our hoists utilize standard imperial fittings and JIC swivel hose ends that can be easily out sourced at your local hydraulic repair shop. For example, with lower pressure hydraulics, a gear pump is typically utilized, which is advantageous since gear pumps are far less expensive than piston pumps (used by competitor's high-pressure units) and less prone to damage when operating in cold weather.
Low Pressure Hydraulics offer compatibility.
SwapLoader has developed a hydraulic system that easily works with other hydraulic attachments you may want or need to use with our hoist. Our low pressure setting allows us to be compatible to most truck chassis' central hydraulic systems. This means that our hydraulic system can be easily adapted to work in conjunction with other truck equipment such as snow plows, salt and sand spreaders, tarpers, sewer cleaning equipment, leaf baggers, cranes and booms, painting equipment, water tanks, and a multitude of various hydraulic truck accessories. |
